Our anaesthetists

Anaesthetists are highly trained medical doctors. On completion of their medical degree, internship and residency, they undergo an additional 5 or more years of training in anaesthesia, critical care, resuscitation and pain management. All of the anaesthetists of the Northern Beaches Anaesthetic Group are Fellows of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA). The College is responsible for the training, examination and specialist accreditation of anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists, and for the standards of clinical practice in Australia and New Zealand.
As Fellows of ANZCA, our anaesthetists particpate in its program of continuing professional development which meets the standard set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for ongoing medical registration.
